Have yourself a vegan Valentine!
This time last year, we never would have thought that the world would have unravelled as it has – and definitely wouldn’t have thought that we’d still be here in February 2021. But thankfully for us, not even a pandemic can stop the romance of Valentine’s Day! Planning this day to be just right might feel like a lot of pressure sometimes, so we’re here to help.

We’ve compiled a list of vegan-friendly restaurants that you can choose from to spend the day with your loved one, friends or family. All have options for takeaway so that you can spend the day at home.

1. Farmacy – London

As the “friendly face” of plant-based eating in London, Farmacy stands by their concept of food as medicine by serving innovative, nutritionally curated, and delicious plant-based comfort foods in a charming, homey setting. Using biodynamic farming practices to grow their fresh products, you can guarantee that any meal at Farmacy will not only be full of flavor – but great for you, too. Their Earth Bowls range in cuisine and taste, creating a hearty meal of fresh veg and flavor. But the true standout is the Farmacy Lasagna, a true vegan masterpiece. Order online via Deliveroo, UberEats, and Ordit.

2. GoFalafel – Manchester

Having opened in Manchester back in 2012, this Middle Eastern plant-based haven has since expanded to multiple cities across the UK, serving up fresh falafel with only seasonal vegetables and salads. They proudly make their falafel mixture fresh every day, using a recipe which dates back generations. And any of their famous falafel meal options – wrap, platter, lunch box – will hit the spot, as well as their homemade hummus and zesty salad boxes. Check out all of their locations here.

3. The Full Nelson – London

If you’re craving a greasy spoon that still meets your veggie or vegan diet, look no further than The Full Nelson. Their Southern style Chik’n burgers are coated in all of the best sauces and served with a side of chili cheese fries. Their lockdown menu is quite condensed but does the trick if you’re looking for a filling meal. And their burgers are currently going for £9. Find them on Deliveroo.

4. Hula Juice Bar – Edinburgh

Hula Juice Bar is a popular café with a cult following (aka the Hulugans) that serves up fresh and healthy juices and food. They call themselves an “island in the city,” or the perfect getaway to relax, destress and feel good with a healthy treat. While they’re not completely vegan, they have a lot of options including their popular “Veggie Brekky” and smoothie bowls. They are, however, proud to be 100% free of plastic, which is another reason to support this local business. You can reach them by phone at 0131 629 1441 or order via Deliveroo and UberEats.

5. EccoPizzeria - Leeds

This authentic pizzeria has one goal: to serve the same quality pizza that you would find at a restaurant in Naples – and they do not disappoint. This applies even to the vegan versions of their pizzas, which can be enjoyed next to one of their fresh juices or ecological and energising smoothies. Go classic with the Margarita Ecco served with vegan mozzarella cheese, San Marzano tomato, basil, and olive oil or mix it up with a Lombardini for a mix of fresh veggies. Order online or give them a call on 0113 278 2828.

6. VX – Bristol

The VX Bristol is another great spot to get your junk food fix, as they believe that, “A cruelty-free vegan lifestyle does not have to be boring.” The restaurant is also attached to a fully vegan grocery store that sells a range of plant-based delicacies including cheeses, breads, and even cruelty-free, vegan clothing. No matter the meal of the day – breakfast, lunch, or dinner – you can enjoy a vegan burrito. One is even served with plant-based mac and cheese tucked inside. Don’t forget to wash it down with a vegan milkshake while you’re at it! The grocery store is currently fully available online and cooked food can be ordered for delivery on the same page.

7. The VurgerCo – London

The VurgerCo is also taking a stab at vegan fast-food with their beloved 100% plant-based burgers topped with indulgent house made sauces. Their current brisket specials are a real treat, served up BBQ burger style or loaded on top of chips. And you can expect any of their vurgers to be doused in a mouth-watering sauce. Their menu also includes salad bowls topped with their famous vegan patties. Plus, you can order a Make at Home Burger kit to really wow your valentine with a homemade meal. Order online here or via Deliveroo.
