When it comes to shopping for underwear, finding pieces that are beautiful, comfortable, and eco-friendly might not have been as straight-forward as you thought. We want you to know that there is a plethora of options out there for you that will suit your lifestyle.

So, with your zero-waste journey in mind, we’ve compiled a list of businesses for you to support this year and beyond.

Bonus: most of the businesses mentioned are also women-owned and we love to see it!

1. Pierre Robert

First off, we have Pierre Robert. Here you can find comfortable, beautiful and elegant undies, loungewear, and even activewear. In their wide selection you'll find bras made using organic cotton, which is approved by Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Organic cotton uses less water and little or no chemicals. GOTS approved cotton also means better working standards for the workers. Pierre Robert also offers underwear from recycled materials.

2. Noia Shop

Noia Shop is a Norwegian owned webshop, offering a great selection of organic, climate-friendly, and ethically produced clothing for both women and men. Their selection includes underwear made by sustainable materials, such as recycled wool, recycled nylon and recycled plastic, as well organic cotton certified by GOTS and textiles made from sustainable forestry. They have a great focus on fair working conditions and many of their products are also certified by Fairtrade and/or Fair Wear Foundation. In addition to underwear, if you want to go a bit crazy, they sell sweaters, pants, jackets, swimwear, shoes and more for both men and women, and they have a VINTAGE section too! Oh, and if you sign up for their newsletter, they donate a tree. Yay!

3. Hunkemöller

Hunkemöller is a Dutch company, founded in 1886. Their range now includes underwear for women where they use sustainable materials (such as sustainable viscose), recycled materials (such as recycled polyester from plastic bottles and plastic bags, and recycled nylon from old fish nets) and organic materials (such as organic cotton). They also aim to reduce the use of harmful chemicals when making accessories, prints and packaging materials. They have quite a wide range, so you’re bound to find something in there for you. Treat yourself! Hunkemöller also has a focus on empowering women, both their customers and their employees. Whoop!

4. Northborn

This Norwegian company sells super comfortable underwear for women and men made with organically grown bamboo. This is a great brand to support because they prioritise the environment when creating their products, but also prioritise their customers’ comfort. Their garments are made using no pesticides, no fertilizer and with low water consumption, so you can enjoy wearing any of their pieces knowing that they were made with meticulous care. Northborn’s underwear has a delicate Nordic style to it and the material is soft and cooling. The goal of the company is to give women something that makes them feel both beautiful and comfortable.
