Love your butt with more sustainable undies
Not all superheroes wear capes. Some wear sustainable, eco-friendly undies too! And while we can all appreciate the small changes we’re all doing in our everyday lives to live more sustainably, we don’t want you stressing out about shopping for underwear that is perfectly zero-waste.

While planning your date night outfit, you might have tried to either find something to wear that you already have or shopped at your local vintage store. But when it comes to shopping for sexy lingerie, finding pieces that are beautiful, comfortable, and eco-friendly might not have been as straight-forward. We want you to know that there is a plethora of options out there for you that will suit your lifestyle. Who ever said sustainability couldn’t be sexy?

So, with your zero-waste journey in mind, we’ve compiled a list of businesses for you to support this year and beyond.

Bonus: most of the businesses mentioned are also women-owned and we love to see it!

1. Nette Rose

First off, we have the beautiful Nette Rose. This company has branded itself: “Ethical lifestyle intimates for our babes” and it shows. Not only is Nette Rose filled with beautiful pieces to choose from, they also make a conscious effort to minimize waste. According to their website, “Always feel free to request minimal to no packaging if you would prefer the bare minimum with your order. We respect your journey babe!”. And the packaging they use is made with local materials that are designed to be used over and over again. “With our boxes being made to a meticulous standard we hope you will keep them for months or maybe years, storing your precious things, whether it's lingerie, jewelry, paintbrushes, or special photographs,” says Nette Rose.

2. Boody USA

This eco-certified company sells undies that are made with 100% organically grown bamboo. Their range includes undies, loungewear, and even activewear. This is a great brand to support because they prioritize the environment when creating their products, but they also prioritize their customers’ comfort with their Feel Good Guarantee. “Delivering superior comfort is ingrained in our philosophy” says Boody.  Their garments are made using no pesticides, no fertilizer and with low water consumption so you can enjoy wearing any of their pieces knowing that they were made with meticulous care. Their sizes range from XS-XL in their men and women collections.

3. Botanica Workshop

This independent lifestyle brand uses organic and sustainable materials to bring you beautiful loungewear and undies. They are based out of Los Angeles, where they partner with local artisans and technicians to “create small production runs of well crafted pieces a few times a year”. So, if you’re planning on gifting something from their range, be sure to order in time! Because their collections are seasonal and the garments are all handmade, you’ll want to act fast on this one.

4. Proclaim

Proclaim intimates is a brand that creates earth-conscious nude lingerie. With an emphasis on inclusivity, this brand was founded on the principle that “fashion should represent all women and can be made in a way that does good for people and the planet”.  Their clothing is ethically manufactured in Los Angeles, California from Tencel or Repreve, a fiber made of post-consumer recycled water bottles. Each Proclaim bralette purchased diverts 3 plastic bottles from a landfill and can be shipped internationally in their 100% recycled and recyclable packaging.

5. Uye Surana

This is a brand that prides itself on its ethical, slow fashion approach. Their pieces are all handmade in small batches in a family-owned studio in Colombia, then sent to New York where each item’s design is hand printed without using water or excess dyes. Company founder Monica Wesley says that she started the business with the goal of giving women something that is as comfortable as it is beautiful. With most pieces being unique and limited addition, they make great gifts – maybe even for yourself!
